I am featuring 2 items in this example.  The first item is a demonstration of the new Listview Control that comes with .Net 3.5.  One thing the listview conrol allows is each cell can contain the data arranged in a very flexible manner.

The second item on display in this example is new geography functions in SQLServer 2008.  I am using the datatype of 'geography' to contain the spatial location of each store.  I pass a geographic point to the SQL statement expressed as a string of latitude and logitude '-95.34 29.70' and the number of meters I want to use  as a distance to include in the results.  The string is converted to a geography point using the following code.
    geography::STGeomFromText('Point(-95.34 29.70)',4326)
The where clause then has only 1 line to return the store locations within a given radius of a given location.
    SpatialLocation.STDistance(@LocationGeog) / 1609.34400 <= 50
    (Note: to convert to miles I am dividing by 1609.34400)
